Most Common Faults We Can Solve

These are frequent PowerFlex 700 issues. We diagnose quickly and repair at the component level.

  • DB Resistance: Internal DB resistor ohms out of range.
Fix: Replace resistor; we supply/fit correct DB module and test.
  • Load Loss: Torque current below [Load Loss Level] for set time.
Fix: Verify mechanical coupling; we check level/time and drive feedback.
  • Phase U/V/W to Ground: Phase-to-ground fault detected on the output.
Fix: Check motor cable/motor for grounds; replace drive if damage found.
  • Decel Inhibit: Bus regulation halts decel to limit DC bus.
Fix: Verify line & grounding, add DB resistor or lengthen decel; we configure/supply DB.
  • Drive OverLoad: 110% for 1 min or 150% for 3 s exceeded.
Fix: Reduce load or increase accel time; we profile current vs. cycle and tune ramps.
  • Output Phase Loss: Current lost in one/more output phases.
Fix: Check motor/drive wiring; we test phase continuity and repair output stage/wiring faults.
  • OverVoltage: DC bus voltage exceeded the maximum value.
Fix: Verify line transients; extend decel time or add a dynamic brake option; we can size/install a DB kit and soak-test the drive.
